ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the Sciens Global Opportunity Fund, which is expanding its asset base by issuing Euro 300 million worth of collateralized fund obligations (CFOs). CFOs are similar to collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). CFOs securitize the return of a fund of hedge funds and in some cases the returns of private equity funds, unlike CDOs that use a variety of bond and other securities as an underlying asset.
