ABSTRACT
The article relates the visit of Japanese motion picture director Akira Kurosawa to the U.S. Kurosawa and his chief production assistant Teruyo Nogami met with the representative of the Japan Society Film Center director Peter Grilli, his assistant David Owens and an interpreter. He engaged in a discussion with the members of the Film Directors Guild concerning his film "Ikiru." He cites that the scenarios in his film were not derived from his own experiences.
