To assist the nutrition label-reading public, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is considering a number of modifications, including changes to the way calories, trans fats, and portion sizes are listed on product packaging. Registered dietician Jeanne P. Goldberg recommends shopping the perimeter of the grocery store, where the least-processed foods are shelved.
