ABSTRACT
The article reports that Scottish beef producer Chris Shepherd says he cannot farm much longer because the British Cattle Movement Service (BCMS) refuses to issue him with cattle passports. Shepherd has appealed to BCMS at Workington, Cumbria, England, to explain why his cattle are not being issued with passports, but says he has not been given an explanation despite every effort to open up a dialogue. The stand-off has run for almost five years.
