ABSTRACT
The article relates an experience of meeting personalities Ai Qing, Wang Meng and Feng Yidai of the People's Republic of China. Ai Qing is one of the country's preeminent poets and the vice-chairman of the Chinese Writers' Association while Wang Meng is a renowned novelist and short-story writer. Feng Yidai is a translator of English-language literature and periodical editor. Feng translated Herman Wouk's "The Winds of War."
