ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of basic cable rights by MSNBC to Dick Wolf's "Crime & Punishment" series and Morgan Spurlock's "Super Size Me." Documentaries are now MSNBC's prime time strategy after Dan Abrams joined the company. MSNBC is now acquiring works from independent producers rather than depending upon "Dateline" and a library of documentaries with NBC News. A list of docs is also presented including "Beyond Conviction" and "For God and Country: A Marine Sniper's Story."
