ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in profits posted by Degussa in the third quarter of 2006. Strong demand in all areas has helped the company boost third quarter operating profits by 15% to € 242 million. The world's largest speciality chemicals company reported sales of € 2.78 billion. Degussa said results were also driven by higher selling prices, which offset a rise in raw material and energy costs.
