ABSTRACT
The article considers the conservation of the Patterdale terrier dog breed. The intelligent, loyal Patterdale faces an uncertain future. Banned from its role in fox-hunting and made virtually redundant as a ratter by the efficiency of poisoned bait, the true Patterdale may soon disappear altogether.
