The article reports on the campaign led by Bali tourism authorities to stop Garuda Indonesia Airlines from axing direct flights from Australia to Denpasar, Indonesia. According to Suranto Yitnopawiro, regional manager at Garuda, if the campaign is successful enough to provide significant growth in revenue from the south-west Pacific routes, head office management will take this into account when reviewing any changes to direct services.
