ABSTRACT
The article looks at the possible effects of the high customer turnover rate of Sprint Nextel on the company's Direct Connect push-to-talk (PTT) service. Competitive PTT offerings by other wireless carriers such as Verizon Wireless and Cingular are benefiting from the customer turnover and network capacity problems being faced by Sprint. Business analyst John Byrne pointed out the lack of growth of Sprint's PTT subscriber base.
