ABSTRACT
The article discusses the slump experienced by mobile telecommunications provider Sprint Nextel in 2006 and looks at the plans by the company to recover from the downtrend. The carrier had postpaid churn of 2.4 percent in the third quarter of the said year, lost 52 percent in profit and attracted a mere 233,000 net subscriber additions. The company plans to tighten credit requirements to restore its losses. It is also planning to release a hybrid cellular telephone that works both on the iDEN and CDMA networks.
