ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the tremendous challenges faced by the power supply industry in Great Britain. The power consumption and the cost of performance and global efficiency is increasing. The power supply industry is an area that suffers from a lack of interest from newly graduated engineers. System designers are exploring new ways to reduce power consumption and cost while increasing performances and global efficiency. The power industry has to reach an acceptable level of standardisation.
