ABSTRACT
The article presents information on a study that was conducted to determine whether early statin therapy reduces the composite endpoint of death in patients with recent onset of the acute coronary syndrome. The study compared the efficacy of statin therapy with that of placebo. It was concluded that early statin therapy does not necessarily reduce the composite endpoint of death.
