ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the decision of the Canadian government to cancel the Medical Marijuana Research Program in 2006. Such move indicates that research into the risks and benefits of herbal cannabis is not included in the priorities of the government. The impact of such research cut on policymakers is reported and information on a grant awarded for a Cannabis for the Management of Pain: Assessment of Safety Study is also presented.
