The article discusses the author's experience of attending the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) strategic leadership conference in Scottsdale, Arizona and the Linkage Global Institute of Leadership Development (GILD) in Palm Desert, California. At the SHRM event, Patrick Lencioni's keynote speech tackled the disciplines needed to overcome the five chronic dysfunctions of teams. Presenters Gary Hamel and Dave Ulrich at GILD, urged attendees to experiment.
