Chemtura agrees rubber, sales

This article reports that Chemtura has reached a preliminary agreement to sell its ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber activities and certain rubber chemicals businesses to an unidentified party. It expects to reach a definitive agreement by the end of 2006. Chemtura, created in 2005 from the merger between Crompton and Great Lakes Chemical, is reshaping its portfolio to increase its focus on specialities.
