The article provides information on the newly formed chapter of the American Solar Energy Society, the San Diego Renewable Energy Society (SDRES) on May 12, 2006 in California. The group is composed of 37 supporters for alternative energy and organizing initiatives on key areas such as education, industry and research and development. The group is planning to collaborate with other organizations, such as the San Diego Regional Energy Office, the Sierra Club and the San Diego Association of Governments to educate state officials about the importance of renewable.
