ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Japan's National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations to begin a feasibility study about the production of bioethanol from rice. The federation is considering production costs as part of a comprehensive feasibility study. Japan's agriculture ministry will subsidize the construction and operating costs of new biofuel plants.
