ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the brownfield regeneration efforts in Great Britain and the impact of the European Union Environmental Liability Directive and how the environmental insurance market context in the country is likely to shift from brownfield development to ongoing operational risk. According to the authors, the total size of the country's environmental-insurance market is estimated to be around £50 million, including policies underwritten for continental Europe and other locations outside Britain.
