ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs on sustainable development issues and events. UNICEF released the report, "Progress for Children: A Report Card on Water and Sanitation." Rice-processing company Ebro Puleva reported to Greenpeace International of its move to stop imports of rice from the U.S. and the European Union due to the threat of contamination by genetically-engineered rice. African cities have been urged to push harder to access global environment funds to finance sustainable public-transport systems.
