This article presents pieces of advice to young chemists on how they can find good mentor and also identify the qualities that a good mentor should possess. For many younger scientists technical brilliance is often the one attribute they consider for a good mentor. But most often this is not the case. Less gifted scientists are often the best mentors because they are naturally hardworking.
