ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase of 11 percent of worldwide steel production in August 2006. According to the International Iron and Steel Institute, the production reached 101.6 million metric tons during the month. The data depicts that China accounts for 36 percent of the production. Other top-producing countries include Japan, Canada and South Korea.
