ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of both Phelps Dodge Corp. and Inco Ltd. to end their combination agreement in the U.S. As part of the termination, Inco has paid Phelps Dodge $125 million. Phelps Dodge claims that the failure of the agreement does not affect its expansion plans. It expects to complete an $850 million expansion.
