The article reports on the healthy quarterly earnings posted by Air Products and Praxair in 2006 and its expected strong 2007 profits, despite a looming U.S. economic slowdown. The company sees earnings growth from the six refinery hydrogen plants that came on stream in 2006, improvements in its healthcare segment as well as volume growth in Europe. Quarterly operating profit was up 25% at $305m on 18% higher sales.
