The article reflects on the author's view regarding the Golden Anniversary of the "Fire Chief" journal. According to the author, to properly respect the magazine anniversary, he talked to people who were in the fire service back in 1956 and read what was written during that time. The author was impressed with the magazine's growing competency and the fire service to meet the demands of an ever-increasingly complex society.
