ABSTRACT
The article offers a look at the efforts of BASF to increase its sales in China before 2010. The company, together with Sinopec, will spend $500 million on their joint chemical verbund site at Nanjing. It has also invested in a cracker expansion and has added ethylene oxide capacity to its chains. The actions taken by BASF depict its effort to balance an expanding presence in the global market for chemicals.
