The article presents monitor engineer Raphael Alkins' narrative of how he and guitar tech Tim Wright helped in finding a wireless beltpack system for the guitarists of Ricky Martin's band. They utilized acoustic guitars with onboard batteries driving the pickups on several of Ricky Martin's songs. The Lectrosonics IS400 wireless system does not employ a compander, to allow the guitar to sound natural.
