ABSTRACT
The article discusses research on the timing of the removal of the tourniquet on patients after a knee replacement surgery. The study aims to identify a prospective trial in order to determine whether it is better to remove the tourniquet before the wound closes or to leave it on until compressive dressings have been applied. It shows that there was less blood loss when the tourniquet was removed after closure and bandaging, however, there was no difference in wound complications.
