ABSTRACT
The article offers tips on spotting skin cancer. The ABC in spotting skin cancer stand for: Asymmetry-the shape of one half of the mole does not match the other; Border-mole edges are uneven, scalloped or notched; and Color-various colors appear throughout the mole. Doctors have also added D for diameter since melanomas-cancerous lesions-tend to be larger than a pencil eraser, and E for elevation, when the mole appears raised from the skin.
