ABSTRACT
The article discusses the efforts of mobile operators in the U.S. to offer unlimited calling between their customers and a designated group of callers. Designated group calling, a trend started by Suncom, gained popularity after Alltel launched My Circle plan, which allows subscribers on certain rate plans to designated up to 10 preferred numbers. T-Mobile USA launched its MyFaves plan which reaches beyond just calling groups and includes handsets with a customized user interface.
