The article reports on an increase in the VNU Retail Index of Current Business Conditions in the U.S. The percentage of supermarket respondents reporting positive current conditions was almost 15 points higher than in 2005. The department store channel also recorded its best performance since January 1997 according to the International Council of Shopping Centers.
