ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the warehouse of Gordon Food Services in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The rack-supported building houses 61,000 pallet locations among 10 stories of racks, an automated storage and retrieval system, integrated mezzanines and a high-speed conveyor system. It is the third high-bay warehouse that the company has built. It also announced plans to build two additional 125,000-square-foot facilities in South Carolina and Florida.
