Davis shifting production of upholstery line to China

The article reports on the relocation of the local production operations for the upholstery line of Davis Furniture from Houlka, Mississippi to China in 2006. Along with the relocation of the local production operations, the company will begin importing fully finished goods. The move will eventually decrease the production staff in Houlka by 130 production workers. However, Davis will maintain the Houlka facility for distribution and retain some 20 jobs in that location.
