Educating workers about delayed retirement

Bridgeford, Lydell C.

Employee Benefit News;Nov2006, Vol. 20 Issue 14, p23
The article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the changing trend in the retirement age in the U.S. More and more people are working past retirement age. As a result, they earn more money, accumulate additional benefits in Social Security and employer-sponsored pensions; and as some studies suggest, physical health and emotional well being are improved. However, traditional pension plans penalize employees who continue to work after retirement age.
