ABSTRACT
The article presents updates related to the chemical industry. The European Union and Russia are to increase their collaboration on environmental issues. A California state bill, aimed at encouraging the use of biodegradable and compostable plastics, is set to boost Cereplast. Lead, cadmium and hexavalent chromium have been exempted from the restriction on hazardous substances directive, in applications where there is no alternative.
