ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the performance of the chemical industry in France. The industry will post lower volume growth of 1.1% in 2006. This is less than was estimated, indicates the trade group Union des Industries Chimiques. While organics and soaps, perfumes and maintenance products will continue to pull volume growth by 2.9%, fertilizer volume growth will fall by 2.6% due to shutdowns or interruptions due to high gas prices.
