ABSTRACT

This article presents an experimental project on the use of multiliteracies and new technology in the urban elementary school Joyce Public School in Toronto, Ontario. The goal of the project is to update the traditional children's story "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" with the use of new technologies. The primary school children have learned the basic narrative of the story and have created their own versions which are more accessible and meaningful to them. Multiliteracies focuses on two arguments. The first argument focuses on the multiplicity of communications channels and media, while the second argument focuses on the salience of sultural and linguistic diversity.
