ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs in the chemical industry. Technical problems have forced Chemopetrol to close its 485,000 tonnes/year ethylene cracker in Litvinov, Czech Republic. The Czech agriculture ministry said that political stalemate will stop laws to allow biofuel sales being introduced by January 2007, in line with EU plans.
