The article reports that Petroquimica Uniao (PQU) plans to build a 500,000 tonnes/year ethylene train at its site in Capuava, Sao Paulo state. The project will raise PQU ethylene capacity at the site to 1.2m tonnes/year at the beginning of the next decade. The addition of a 500,000 tonnes/year train will depend on the availability of raw materials, especially refinery gas and heavier feedstocks such as naphtha.
