ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs on the chemical industry. Mexico's chemicals production rose by 11% in the third quarter compared with Q2, boosted by a 26% rise in plastic resins output. Chemtura is refocusing on turning around its $1.6bn plastic additives business, targeting cost reduction and selective price increases, said Marcus Meadows-Smith, the new executive vice president of the plastic additives business.
