ABSTRACT
The article presents news in the European chemical industry as of October 2006. Ems-Chemie's January to September sales increased by 10.1%, compared with the same period last year, to 1.04bn Swiss francs. Romanian firm Carbid Fox is to cut about one-fifth of its workforce under a restructuring programme. It is claimed that the move will not productivity. A year-on-year rise is reported by Swiss flavours and fragrances producer Givaudan.
