ABSTRACT
This article explains that anyone with a son or a daughter knows how hard it is to persuade young people to do anything. So marketers face an uphill battle. But there are professionals who are making the breakthrough. Some things have been true of every generation of youth. Loud music and rebellious attitudes, for example. But the latest research on youth in New Zealand has some surprises among the universal youth truths. New Zealand youth are patriotic and show a nostalgic delight in all things Kiwiana. So much for a homogeneous global youth culture. These facts could help marketers in the country.
