PE and PP on the rise

The article reports on the increase in capacity, demand and exports of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) in the Middle East. Jacobs Consultancy forecasts regional PE capacity at 8.3 million tonnes/year in 2006, up 17.7% from 2005; demand is up 5.3% at 2.6 million tonnes and exports are at 4.9 million tonnes. Similarly, PP is set to rise by 15.7% to 2.5 million tonnes, demand is up by 5.8% to 1.6 million tonnes and exports have risen by 41.3% to 740,000 tonnes.
