ABSTRACT
The article considers the success of Orion Shipping & Forwarding after it took over Kerry Logistics in 2005. Since that takeover, Orion has the best of both worlds, the personal touch, local knowledge and the flexibility of a small family company, plus the backing of its parent's extensive financial resources and huge network. David Reavey, Orion's managing director, said they have an infrastructure behind them that allows them to offer a wider range of services.
