This article reports on the acquisition of Ciba Specialty Chemicals' masterbatches business by Clariant. The masterbatches business has facilities in France, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. All of the employees will be transferred to Clariant. The acquisition will strengthen Clariant's position in colour and additive concentrates for plastic products and enhance its presence in the Middle East and Asia-Pacifc markets.
