ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plans of Recombinant Media Labs, an audio/visual (A/V)production and research facility in San Francisco, California, to delve into A/V surround technology. Recombinant Media founder and conductor Naut Humon stated that they are developing methods for an A/V institute of experiential engineering. Humon and Asphodel Records founder Mitzi Johnson then collaborated to install a performance and exhibition arts center in the city to explore spatial media synthesis.
