ABSTRACT
The article focuses on misleading infomercials selling health related products in the United States. Infomercials involve false advertising to claim extraordinary results. However, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission has taken 22 law enforcement actions against infomercials featuring weight-loss products. It has also set up a mandatory standard for infomercials. Precautions like investigating features of products, credit card payment, ensuring customer-service number are suggested as well.
