ABSTRACT
The article discusses the processes of capturing the students' delight in learning science through reading and experimenting. Accordingly, children may appear to be uninterested in reading informational text because they have not yet learned comprehension strategies that lead to understanding. To address the problem, it is suggested that the teacher must help her students focus on skills that help them organize their thinking and increase vocabulary. The use of note cards or sticky notes is hinted to help them identify main topics and supporting details. The use of a vocabulary concept map is likewise recommended, to help them understand and remember new terminology. On the other hand, the use of microscopes during experiments is suggested to help them see the hidden world of science.
