ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. Court of Appeals has ruled on October 5, 2006 that the ban on same-sex marriage in California does not violate the constitutional rights of gays and lesbians. According to deputy Attorney General Christopher Krueger, marriage should only be between a man and woman. The legislation on same-sex marriage legalization was vetoed by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who said that the issue should be decided by the courts or by plebiscite.
