ABSTRACT
The article reports a food-versus-fuel debate in Malaysia as the Ministry of plantations Industries and commodities enforced a blanket ban on issuing new biodiesel licenses. Palm oil is a versatile product with various applications and it is relatively cheap to deliver. Records indicate Malaysia along with Indonesia command 80% of the global palm oil market and there are concerns regarding the unexpected growth in palm oil demand for biodiesel production.
